Plan inventory, listing, fulfilment, records and review routines for a Vinted resale operation, with workload and compliance checks.
Build a repeatable cycle
Separate stock intake and inspection, photos, bulk upload, review, publishing, storage, messages, packing, dispatch and reconciliation. Batching similar tasks can reduce setup, but keep one item identity attached to its photos, listing and storage location. Set a weekly cadence that fits actual order volume and available time.
Record why each item was sourced and how much it cost. Your own results will tell you more than a generic promise about what always sells.
Know the unit economics
Track acquisition cost, direct costs, sale proceeds, refunds and time in stock. Revenue is not profit; storage and unsold stock also matter. Vinted currently says standard selling is free for sellers, while buyers pay displayed Buyer Protection and shipping charges. Check the current transaction screen and terms.
Vinted says commercial-purpose sales are subject to Pro seller rules and limitations. Check your account type and the marketplace’s current rules before scaling.
Keep records and use tools carefully
HMRC says buying goods with the intention to resell for profit may count as trading. The £1,000 trading allowance is based on gross trading income and has conditions; it is not a blanket guarantee that no tax is due. Consult HMRC or an accountant for your situation.
Choose tools around a measured bottleneck, keep a manual fallback and check every action. See how to compare seller tools and HMRC-focused guidance.
