Spot common warning signs in Vinted messages and keep payments, account access and support requests inside official channels.
Keep the transaction inside Vinted
Be cautious if a buyer asks you to continue on WhatsApp, email or another site, or says they need your email address to pay. Do not accept screenshots or external links as proof of payment. Check the order in your Vinted account and use Vinted’s own shipping instructions. Vinted says transactions made outside its system are not covered by its normal buyer protections and support.
Protect login and payment details
Never share your password, one-time code, full card number or CVV with a buyer. Do not scan a QR code or sign in through a link sent in chat to “confirm” a sale. If you think you entered details on a fake page, go to Vinted directly, secure the account and associated email, and contact official support. Enable the account security options offered in the current app.
Check suspicious claims independently
Messages may imitate Vinted, a delivery company or a payment provider. Check the exact domain before signing in, but the safest route is to open the official app or type the known address yourself. A buyer cannot make a sale appear by sending a receipt image; the order must appear in Vinted’s own interface. Report suspicious messages through the official tools.
Use Vinted’s safety guidance
