Different categories, different size lists
- Women’s clothing: a standard women’s size scale.
- Men’s clothing: letter sizes, with shirts also asking for a neck size, trousers and jeans for a waist size, and suits for chest and length.
- Footwear: separate size lists for women’s, men’s and kids’ shoes.
- Kids and baby: sizes based on age or height, with their own shoe sizes.
- Bedding and beds: sizes by bed type, such as single or double.
- Accessories: belts, socks, bras, rings and watches each have their own scale.
Many other categories, such as mugs, books and decor, have no size at all.
How to choose the right one
Copy the size from the label rather than guessing, and add measurements to the description, because sizing varies between brands. For shoes, check whether the label shows UK, EU or US sizes and choose the matching option. If a category asks for several measurements, such as neck or waist, take them from the label or measure the item flat.
What happens when you change category
If you move an item to a category that uses a different size list, the old size may not exist there. In Listel, changing category keeps your size where the new category has a matching one and clears it only when there is no match, so you re-select it. Categories without a size field do not show one.
